It is a French medium department that gives education within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences since Yeditepe University was founded in 1996. In 1996, the first founding head of the Department was Prof. Dr. Yaşar Gürbüz. With a staff of highly respected academic members, the department started training with a quota of 25 students in the first year. Now the quota is 55 students. The Department gave its first term graduations in 2000. Students who learn French in the Preparatory Program begin the first year of their undergraduate program; they also develop their language during their undergraduate education. They graduate as specialist individuals in their fields with course options offered to them during their four year undergraduate studies. With the power and experience of our students' success in undergraduate education, we have also started our French International Relations Master’s Program in the Institute of Social Sciences since academic year of 2013-2014.
