The program framework of the Public Administration department, which started education in 2004 with the awareness of the importance of a contemporary and qualified education in the field, basically includes the fields of law, politics, economy, sociology, urbanization and environmental problems. The program is structured to provide the equipment required for professional fields such as manager, local authority, administrative law judge, expert or inspector in public or private sector organizations.
One of the areas that our department attaches importance to is that our students do internships in the fields they intend to work in their professional lives. Our students, who successfully complete their internships in public institutions, local governments, international organizations, companies and non-governmental organizations, can gain career experience before graduation.
The ultimate goal of the undergraduate program offered at Yeditepe University Department of Public Administration is to develop students who know Turkey's social structure as well as its administrative structure, who are aware of and can follow the changes in the world, who have the ability to think broadly and analytically and express their thoughts in Turkish and English. Our aim is to train managerial candidates who have internalized the concept of "public interest", have high competitiveness in private organizations, have a face towards the modern world and a heart towards their country, who are "free in thought, free in conscience, free in wisdom".
The program framework of the Public Administration department basically consists of courses in Administrative Sciences, Law, and Political Science. In addition, the fields of economy, sociology, urbanization and environmental problems are also included in our program. The program is structured to provide the equipment required for professional fields such as manager, civil administrator, administrative law judge, expert or inspector in public or private sector organizations.
The courses in our undergraduate program are not courses where the faculty member just lectures and students take notes, but are courses based on students doing research, discussing, analyzing and producing. The basic approach in our department is to reinforce the skills of obtaining, accessing and using information. In our program, where interdisciplinary studies are encouraged, we aim to enable specialization. In line with our understanding of interactive education, one of our ultimate goals is to provide our students with empathy on social issues.
Our graduating students can continue their careers in the academic field or work in the public or private sector.
