Course Objectives: 

The aim of this course is to introduce theoretical developments related to knowledge society, and to specify applications of knowledge technologies in general and e-government implementations in particular.

Course Content: 

The course aims to build awareness for issues of the field of Information Society concept, its emergence, and impacts of information society and to introduce all aspects associated with the public. E-government subject will be examined as a tool developing and facilitating public services. It goes without saying that emerging technology and informatics provide a lot of opportunities for improvement and development of the public administration (included central and local administrations), it seems especially that taking advantage of public relations, participatory administration, facilitating of service and service delivery produce significant results in many areas. Within this context, topics to be covered among course headings are: e-government concept and its development, structuring of e-government portal, e-local projects, e-service, e-governance, e-democracy, e-citizen perceptions in public administration, e-government practices in the World and in Turkey.
