Our department's language of instruction is English. Students can demonstrate their English proficiency in the following ways:
[1] Students who score 550 on the written system (PBT), 213 on the computer-based system (CBT), or 79 on the internet-based system (iBT) of the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam are considered to have demonstrated their English proficiency. To have the TOEFL exam results accepted by Yeditepe University, the results must be directly sent to Yeditepe University by the institution administering the exam (score reports are not accepted). This process can be done by entering Yeditepe University's institution code (7050) before or after the exam as an additional service.
[2] Students who pass the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam organized by Yeditepe University are considered to have demonstrated their English proficiency and are exempt from the Preparatory School. The Foreign Language Proficiency Exam is held on the day, time, and location announced by Yeditepe University Rectorate. To be successful in the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam, students must score at least 60 out of 100.
[3] Students who score 59 or less on the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam organized by Yeditepe University are required to take the Level Placement Exam. Based on the results of this exam, students' English proficiency levels are determined, and they continue their studies at Yeditepe University English Preparatory School according to their levels.
